The Eaton/Moeller MSC-DE-12-M17(24VDC) is a compact and reliable direct-on-line (DOL) motor starter designed for medium-power motor applications. It integrates a PKE12 motor-protective circuit-breaker and a DILM17 contactor in a pre-assembled unit, ensuring quick installation and dependable motor protection. With an adjustable overload release range of 3–12A and a non-delayed short-circuit release of 168A, the device supports motors up to 5.5 kW at 400V AC-3 (11.3A) and up to 5.5 kW at 500V AC-3 (9A). It withstands short-circuit currents up to 100kA at 400V and 50kA at 500V. Operating with a 24V DC actuating voltage, the MSC-DE-12-M17 complies with IEC/EN 60947-4-1 and VDE 0660, supports type 1 and type 2 coordination, offers IP20 protection, and is IE3 motor compatible. The unit is also SmartWire-DT ready with an optional communication module, making it suitable for both standalone and integrated automation systems.
